I heard recently that the number of people that went unmatched for PEM this year was 77 or about 28%.

Looks like it's getting pretty competitive out there.

Thoughts?

I don't know the numbers, but it's definitely become more competitive. I say that because our PEM program director mentioned that there have been more applicants, and that increase was not unique to our institution.

Match rate of PEM:

2009: 81.3
2010: 80.0
2011: 72.0
2012: 80.7
2013: 80.5

Aside from 2011, it seems to have been pretty steady.
