Hello! EM applicant here! Just curious, have people tried to discourage you in terms of salary and how they dont think the fellowship is necessary whenever you mention it?

Ha! Yes - definitely have gotten some questions, but 1) I don't think the pay difference is quite as big of a problem as is rumored and 2) I've decided that the time/$ tradeoffs are worth it, I think incorporating PEM will really help protect against burnout long-term. I also want the flexibility to practice in a children's hospital/ED and those jobs tend to be limited to fellowship-trained folks.

Are you EM trained or Peds trained?
 
Per the PEM Webinar on 7/26/23. Most of the interviews will be going out in early/mid August of 2023. If you are B listed, then you may get later interviews after the A-listers reject. Feel free to email a program if you don't initially get an interview so you get to the top of the B-list.

does it matter if I schedule my interviews to be at the end of the season( end of October)? or

Yes! I've noticed that programs are using different systems for their interview invites (i.e. ERAS, Thalamus, Interview Broker) and was initially just refreshing ERAS incessantly *insert Einstein insanity quote*. I'd maybe try double checking your message/e-mail to see if there are any external links there?

Yeah i have reread it several times! It says they are using ERAS to schedule. I called ERAS, and they said there have been a lot of updates to the scheduling system and the program scheduler may not be using ERAS correctly... they advised me to reach out to the program directly.
