I am taking a class to get my pharmtech license, but I won't be licensed until after I e submit my application. Is there a way to let the schools know I am working on this on my current application or maybe update it somehow after I received it?

Thanks

I was once told that having a pharm assistant/tech license w/o actual experice doesn't mean much more favorable or impressive than not having one at all ....

To answer your last part: I don't think you can add a license info after you e-submit. You can only modify/add courses and maybe LoR

Once you submit you can only update your fall grades. If you really feel that having your pharm tech license is important, you could mention it in the personal statement, but like syl said, it's pretty much only valuable if you have work experience. When will you get your license?

The program I requires externships as part of the requirement for obtaining the license so I will be getting the experience the pharmacy schools desire. I will be getting the license early march.

not being a debbie downer but it took me 2 years AFTER I got certified to actually find a pharmacy tech job. I hope you find one sooner than that but a tech job is HARD to come by. Good luck

I agree on finding a pharmacy tech job, they are hard to come back.

Though I ended up getting one at 17, had to have a special override from CVS then.

I worked like over 3 months to get a pharmacy job this time. 🙄 Even though its back at CVS.

the work i will be doing is part of the class. I wont be getting paid, but there experience is there.

back on topic. how can i let the schools know i will be obtaining my pharmtech license in march?

this might be something to bring up during the interview process, or in a supplemental application. Or you can reference it in your PS if its actually influenced you in some way.

In an open file interview, they'll ask you. In a close file interview, you bring it up yourself. Find a way to make it appealing and not arrogant! that is all.. 👍
