While I understand it is not a publication in itself, Is it worth mentioning under all the posters/presentations for a given research project “pending publication, under review, Submitted April 2019”

Personal opinion: If it is still under review, then it isn't published. Don't misrepresent yourself by saying it is published. Definitely be honest that it is still pending at the time of your application submission. But honestly, it's such a minor detail in the vast file of your application that I think you're overthinking it. The most important thing is to not misrepresent yourself.

Oh yah, definitely. I just wanted to know if it is mentioning at all being that it is/will just be pending. If all goes well it SHOULD be published by fall quarter, which is certainly worth of an update. But on app itself, is being mentioning a pending pub even worth while? You are right, it probably is such a minor thing compared to everything else being that it is still pending.

It's only really pending publication after it has been accepted. Prior to that it is pending a decision, and nobody cares if you have something waiting for a decision.

Thank you much. Silly question as this is my first go in the publication world - is it accepted once all peer review/collaboration is done and you are just waiting for the journal to come out or is it accepted once the process starts (ie, you have submitted and it is in review).

Here’s how my colleagues refer to not yet accepted or published papers on their CV:
“Manuscript in Progress” = could be anywhere from a figure or 2 in to close to complete.
“Manuscript in Submission” = this manuscript has been submitted to a journal but hasn’t yet received the green light to be reviewed from the editor.
“Manuscript in Review” = the manuscript was deemed worthy to send to reviewers by the editor, and they haven’t gotten back to you yet.
“Manuscript in Revision” = the reviewers came back with a status of Rejected with minor or major revisions, giving you the opportunity to resubmit to this journal if you address their concerns.

You could say that about your shopping lists that can also be submitted to journals, even if written in crayon on a brown paper bag.

Hence, pending is worthless. NIH doesn't allow PIs to list them on our Biosketches.

Roger. Will the list get published if I mention my taste in organic free range avacodos...?

Ok, so the general consensus seems to be that it doesn’t hurt but doesn’t add to my ECs to add (which, this would be added after the national conference, local conference and school symposium) “Manuscript in review for the journal biochemistry.”

However, if it is published on the projected timeline (September-November) would that be worth a pre-II update?

Post-interview maybe. Pre-interview if its later in the cycle and you haven't heard anything. September is way too early to be annoying them when maybe they haven't even read your app yet

Sounds good. Same goes for say grades from Spring quarter and grades from fall quarter?

Exactly. Would Spring grades not be on AMCAS?
I won’t have mine because I am submitting June 1. School won’t have Spring transcripts ready until July 1 and the difference in GPA for me will be cGPA/sGPA of 3.64/3.98 vs 3.68/3.99, so not a significant enough jump to delay verification by 2+ months.

I dont know, if so they are few

The AMCAS guide states "Courses for which you received a grade of Incomplete and for which no final grade has been assigned." So I am assuming, even if no grade has been assigned and the course is in progress during Spring quarter, the classes will still appear on the application/transcript as in progress or future? With my grades having been 4.0 for the last 5 quarters of all science coursework, it really shouldn't be all to detrimental to have a quarter that shows "Molecular biology - IP, Immunology - IP, Animal physiology - IP" right? Is it arrogant for me to assume that ADCOMs will assume the 4.0 grades will continue?

I would probably wait the 3 weeks if my cGPA went from a 3.6x to a 3.7x, but it wil not, unfortunately.

It's accepted when you get an email from the journal saying "Congratulations, we are pleased to inform you that your submission X has been accepted."
