Penn 4 yr program?

Hi-
Starting to do my due diligence about programs...I know Penn's program is a 4 yr (internship attached)...but I can't find on their website the description of their internship year. Can anyone (at Penn or otherwise) tell me how the internship is set-up?

don't remember details but it was aimed to prepare for pm&r, so obviously some medicine, but also included some ortho, neuro, and pm&r related fields as well.

from what i remember, from last year interviewing, 3months of medicine, 1 neursourgery, 1 ortho, 1 surgery, 1 neuro, 1 pmr, and electives

PG-1 Level

The program for the PM&R intern year consists of 4-week rotation periods as follows: Internal Medicine (three rotations); Neurology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, and Family Practice (one rotation each). Additionally, the PGY-1 resident shall complete the internship by rotating through two elective rotations: Rotation options include but are not limited to:

Trauma Surgery
Radiology
Psychiatry
Emergency Medicine

I was in the original class that started the internship when Penn switched to a four year program. Since then, they have worked out a lot of the kinks. As stated above, 3 months of IM, 1 month surgery (at the VA), 1 month of ortho (all outpt with some OR time and no call or weekends), 1 month of neurosurgery (1 call per week with mostly clinic and OR time during the week), 1 month of Family Practice (strangely enough, this is an inpatient month with no weekends), 1 month of Peds (at CHOP - the #1 children's hospital in the country as they are so fond of saying), Neurology consult (no calls or weekends), 1 month of PM&R and 2 months of electives. They are now very accomodating with the electives. Some of the interns last years were able to do a month of outpt clinics with Mark Wenneker who is DC/DO. Another intern did a month of Sympac which is the Syptom management and palliative care service. The intern year basically gets you ready for your PGY 2 year. It's an excellent internship program and not all that painful.
