Does anyone know how Penn informs you of their decision (for the undergrad post-bacc)? Do they email you or send a letter? Thanks!

Unless things have changed, regular old letter.

Good Luck!

I am finishing my 2nd semester now. I sent in my application ON the deadline last year, scheduled my interview a week later, and was accepted 3 days after my interview. They sent me an acceptance email that was followed by a letter a few days later. My stats were not wonderful ...my gpa was a 3.1

Excellent! That's good to hear. How have you liked the program?

I will be starting the program this summer. I applied very early (october) got an interview about 2 weeks later but didn't hear for about 3 weeks after that....I started freaking out, but apparently it had something to do with the Thanksgiving break. so dont worry they WILL get back to you!!!

You will hear in 2-3 weeks by mail. Everyone else has, and I did. The followed through in the time period that they told me.

Best of luck!

Hello,

I've just sent in my application today to start in the Fall at UPenn's Special Science Program. I have a 3.65 GPA (3.4 Science GPA) from Princeton (graduated '05) but still need to finish Orgo and Physics. I got 1350 on my SATs and have not yet taken the MCATs. I am currently working for a humanitarian NGO in Africa. What do you think my chances are for being admitted? I am really nervous that I've applied too late....

Thanks.

Don't worry, your in. It's not to late and your stats are very competitive for the program. Africa helps too.

I applied for Penn's postbac probably around February of 2005 (for a Fall '05) start and found out like a month later. I was a Penn undergrad with a 3.5 overall and I very ugly 2.7 science gpa and a 1340 SAT. Still I had lots of ec's in college and a good personal statement. Based on your stats alone and with the extra involvement in an African NGO (Dr. Hunter, who is one of the interviewers/advisors likes to see extra life experiences that aren't typical - she's a cool advisor), I'd say you're golden.

Thanks for the replies 🙂

Penn should have received the whole application by now, so I am just waiting to hear. Did any of you receive an e-mail saying that your application had been received? Is there any way to know?

Hello,
I started to have the same anxiety so I emailed Dr. Hunter and she replied promptly saying that they had received my application and other documents and would get in touch with me as soon as it had been reviewed, which she did! So I would just shoot her a quick email about the status of the application just so you can ease your fears. Hope this helps.
