I applied to upeenn a month back.But today i got a letter from them that my application has been rejected.Does anyone has any idea wht the people from UPENN take into consideration .My part 1 score was 88.

It sometimes helps to send a personal statement and Reccomendation letters from the professors of your dental school .

before sending in the application i had callled and asked thier office if they wanted any SOP or reco letter and she said no they do not need anything 😕

I do understand your confusion but it is always better to be on the safe side so i sent it anyways even if they did not require it.
When you send in all the material,it is not just for a formality somebody actually reads them....so it is my opinion that even if a school does not asl for reco letters or personal statement just send them anyway.Whoknows among a bunch of applicants it may help you stand out.
I hope this helps clear your confusion...
