Does anyone know how many students are in this category and how many they end up calling for an interview!
Is there anything that you can advise adding to my folder to make it more appealing!

I, too, am in this category. Actually,this is my second application cycle in this category. I have recently learned that some do get off this "list".
If anyone can give us some adice on how to get of this "list" PLEASE let us know. I am getting desparate!

Today I talked to the Penn state admissions office and she said that until March 31st they will be looking over this category. She said that they are going to call us if we are granted an interview. My question is how many of us are in this category?

I don't know how many people are in this category. I hope it isn't many! when did you get the letter. I think mine arrived in December. Did you write a letter of interest? Have you had any other interviews? Is this your first year applying? Feel free to pm me if you want to chat. And thanks for the insight about March 31st.

Hey Perseverant,
I a canadian citizen- i have not had an interview in the US yet - I never thought this process would be soooooo tough and painful.
What do you mean by a letter of interest- did you send one to them. What do you say in this letter. In the canadian system the day after the application deadline you are not allowed to change anything or add anything. Basically you leave it alone. Is this not the case with the US schools? How about you- have you interviewed. For the next two weeks everytime my phone rings I think I am going to be very nervouse. Who knows they have probably already rejected me so I am anxious for nothing.

A letter of interest is just that...you can send the school a letter expressing your interest and how you think your qualitites would benefit the class. I wrote to Penn State because it is my first choice.
And no, i haven't received any interview invites. This is the second year without an invite. This is so depressing and EXPENSIVE! I just don't know what to do next....i think writing another letter would drip of desparation but i am tempted!!
Have you had any interviews up there in Canada? And just for you info. the US schools will accept udates (mostly transcripts only). But some will entertain an update letter. Good luck!

Talked to an admission administrator today and she said that the committee is looking at files every day now for interview invites. She even said that they'll call the person on the spot for the interview. Just wanted to share this info. with everyone. 🙂

Does anyone have any idea about how many of us are in this special category or how they look at files- alphabetically or my date of submission. What an odd process! and nerve racking too!

I'm in this spot too. I'm thinking by now even if they did give me a call, I'd probably decline just because I don't have an extra $400 to toss at airline tickets and it's awfully late.
