what is the better school? Penn State is unranked but seems like they're both mid-tier? Is that accurate?

(I think I know the pros and cons for me but just wondering from perspective for residency etc)

Thanks

If the only question is about ranking/reputation, then I think it’s obvious that Hofstra is the clear choice. Hofstra is probably upper mid-tier while Penn State is probably lower mid/lower-tier. Especially when you consider how much more competitive it is to get into Hofstra.

thanks. yeah I was just curious because someone recently posted that penn state was "solidly mid-tier" and the residency director rankings rank it relatively high so i wasn't sure

Oh I see what you’re saying. I still think most residency directors would rank Hofstra over Penn State for identical applicants, no question.

Take a peep at Hofstra's match list as well. Very strong.

While Hofstra may be newer, their match list is very impressive-since they’ve already graduated a few classes, it’s not as if you’re going to an unknown school with zero track record.

it’s a great opportunity to study in the NY metro region and the networking opportunities will be vast/worth it!!!
