Cost is same. I like both Florida and Pennsylvania equally. I have no ties to each school.

All I care about is going to the college that increases my opportunity to get into the most competitive residency.

Or, which college would you choose and why given the first paragraph.

USF Select or Core? Tampa is a much bigger town than Hershey so even though you might like both Florida and Pennsylvania equally, do you like a smaller town or a larger better?

Honestly that stuff doesn’t matter to me. I like the school that will give me more opportunities for a competitive residency

I don’t think there’s really a big difference between the schools in that regard, so that stuff becomes more important. Neither is going to impact your residency app appreciably vs the other

What rank (top, top-mid, low-mid, low, tier) is each school?

It’s med school, don’t worry too much about rank. I grew up near Hershey, and that area is pretty boring, so even if your on SELECT USF, Allentown might be more fun.

I live in the Lehigh Valley and visited PSU and Hersey several times-- you won't be bored living in the Lehigh Valley for 2 years. I've lived here a decade and still find new things to do, as well as fun traditions like Musik Fest, Bacon Fest, Celtic Fest and living the Pennsylvania lifestyle.

But ignoring the location, are these medical schools truly equal in opportunities for a better residency placement? This is taking mainly research opportunities and prestige into account

Are your thoughts on select due to the fact that it’s new and thus not as reputable?
Nope. I requested the match list. Not impressed with the IM matches though I kinda ignored the rest. You can ask admissions for a SELECT specific match list.

No 2 schools, no matter rank, are going to be truly equal. What’s the much more important variable here is going to be YOU and not the school.
