Ok I can't hold this any longer. I am SO UPSET!!!!!!

About a month ago I wrote Penn State that I will be in the area and if they they are going to give me an interview, to please give me an interview date close to the the date of my NY interview so that I don't have to flight out a zillion times. I also gave them the date of my NY interview and the dates when I will be in the area. They selected me for an interview and sent me the stupid letter in the mail and it took about a week to get to me. When I called I was told that the the interview dates that I wanted were already gone, and I had to flight out the following week. This is so ridiculous. They had the information and the dates that I wanted, why didn't they just schedule me?
It even makes me wonder if it is even worth interviewing there if they are so bad about this whole interview thing. They have no consideration for applicants! They assume that I own Fort Knox and I can get money and fly wherever, whenever.
And because of this I also have to lose an exam. This is SO ridiculous. Why are they doing this when they could be a little nicer and try to accomodate people.
I hate this school already! I think I am going to have a miserable experience interviewing there. Before this interview thing, I really liked Penn State, I read about it, and what people said made me think that it would be a nice place to spend 4 years of my life. But after they did this to me, I think really low of them.

Hey Fritz...it sounds like a crappy situation, but try not to let it influence your opinion of PSU. It was probably just an oversight. Penn State is a great school, and the interview experience is very low-stress. It's definitely not true that they don't care about us...the people in the admissions office are some of the nicest people I've ever met. So, while what happened to you is unfortunate, just try not to let it get to you. I know that's easier said than done, but trust me - PSU is a nice place.

I second Pianogirl. Penn State seemed like one of the most caring places I have visited. The staff and administration seem excellent. I'm really sorry about what happened, but I'm sure it was just an oversight. I doubt that helps the annoyance though.
