I just got the secondary on Friday. My application was verified late May.

I'm a little confused by the "Write a short paragraph/statement." Does this mean we shouldn't write it in narrative style and should instead write a point-blank response?

For LORS, I've got one from a biochem lab prof, one from a physician I shadowed, one from a bio teacher, and another from a bio tech that I TA'ed for, should I not bother applying? Any ideas? (Basically, I don't think any of these are applicable for the Non science faculty letter req)

I still haven't received secondary 😢
If you don't find it in your spam, I would gently email admissions and maybe ask when you could expect a secondary application. Don't forget to include your AMCAS ID if you reach out to them.

slight neurotic comment here but on prompt #4, it says "write a short paragraph" but gives 250 words max. If I reuse one of my previous essays that are a few paragraph but still under 250 words, will I be DOA?

I only ask because the terminology on prompt 5 says "write a short statement" and doesn't limit the essay to one paragraph

I think it would be more concerned about 250 words. if you are worried about it though, delete the spaces so that it's all one paragraph just long.

Finally got secondary after emailing them.... If you haven't received secondary yet definitely email them

Desperately trying to get that submitted tonight.

For this question: If not currently enrolled in a full-time academic program, please summate your activities from the time of graduation from your baccalaureate program through the time of this application, as well as your plans between now and your matriculation to medical school. If not applicable, enter "N/A".

Did you guys just list out everything or write a short paragraph?

Honestly you should be fine, I don't have a second LOR and emailed them about it. They said I am fine either way so just email them and see what they say!

Does anyone know if you apply for the University Park Curriculum, will you be considered for Hershey as well?

So to even get into the UP program, you have to be accepted to Penn State overall which is the Hershey main program. The UP is a specialized curriculum that I think is capped at like 12.

No way to scrounge the graveyard of old gen ed professors for a rec letter?

I did PSEO (college classes in high school) for all of my gen ed classes, so the only thing they'd remember me for was being an incredibly neurotic 16 year old that they taught 5 years ago...🙁

+ this was covid era so most if not all of them were online with no communication outside of emails. I've accepted I might be cooked for this, I just turned it in anyways.

You should be fine. I emailed them about this cus I didn't have a non-science faculty LOR and they told me as long as I submit the minimum 4 LORs it'll be ok.

I haven't seen anyone on here, admit.org, or cycletrack report an II.
Historically the earliest invite I have seen PSU give is August 27th, so we likely have a few more weeks of waiting before any real movement begins.
I feel like we're buckling in to watch a documentary play out, lol.

I just got this secondary, and I'm wondering how to approach some of these shorter prompts. I'm a career changer, and 13 years out of college. Obviously I can't explain what I've been doing since graduation AND what I will be doing over the next year in 75 words, it's literally impossible. Wondering if it would be incorrect to just write about what I'm doing over the next year? I'd really like to talk about a new clinical job I picked up since applying, and with 75 words I basically just have room to talk about that and my full time job/volunteering. But, I don't want to ignore the part of the question asking about what I've done since graduation....it just seems like an impossible prompt for a non-trad student. Is it worthwhile to e-mail admissions about this?
I graduated 13 years ago and have held roles like …… this coming year I plan to …..

Boom 75 words
