I dug up the letter:

"Interview invitations will be sent out weekly from late December through MArch, with at least two weeks' advance notice of the interview date. Those applicants whom we believe are less academically qualified will begin to hear from us as soon as we can determine thier comparative ranking with other applicants. In short, we do not interview nor do we accept all at one time. It is a 4 month process."

I interpret this to mean that as they decide that you do not qualify for an interview, they will let you let you know. Hope that clarifies things.
 
Just curious....has anyone received a rejection since the initial ones were sent out in December? The letter makes it sound like they would continue to send out rejections along with interview invites, but I don't remember reading that anyone got one. I suppose it doesn't really matter, but maybe it means a lot of us who haven't heard a peep will be on the waitlist??? Just wishful thinking, I'm sure...

No, I don't believe so. Someone told me that they aren't sending out final notifications until April. I don't believe they put people on the waitlist without having been interviewed, but I could be wrong.
 
Now i know where i got that from...i interpreted that card as those people they deem less academically qualified will be invited for an interview once their more qualified applicants are evaluated. Guess that'll teach me to assume/interpret!

And SweeTeaPie...idk if it was me but they told me on the phone that final notifications (which i took to mean rejections for those not offered interviews - but again...assuming!) would be sent in april.

So basically more waiting...oh well nothing we can do about it anyway. But once again...well just hope and pray!
 
Just got a rejection email. Oh well. I was considering declining an interview if one was offered.
 
Now I am totally confused, a rejection email? Today? I thought they only did rejections with letters? Did anyone get an interview invite email this week?

I am going crazy still.

Well, if it clears anything up, I just got a rejection e-mail myself...albeit a little bit later than Mystifical. I guess this means that if you haven't been rejected yet, you're probably getting an interview.

Poopies. Penn was definitely my top choice (after my first top choice rejected me) and this just kind of sucks that I didn't even get an interview.
 
Or, it just means that they are just stretching out their rejections as long as they are stretching out their interview invites...😛
 
i know everyone's talking about rejections being sent out already. . ..I am just hoping that they are not done sending out interview invites. cause no one is posting any interview invite snail mail/emails lately. . . .🙁

I know I'm still waiting. . .

If they continue the same spacing between notification and interview, invites for the 21st will go out next week, I believe. So no worries yet!

Did anybody else get the email from Penn asking if you were still interested?

Wow you just got the interview today? I called Rob and then replied to the email as well. I haven't heard back from the email yet though! Yikes!

And i just got an email back and was told that I would certainly still be considered. No interview offer with the email though. 🙁 Maybe one is coming. 🙂
 
No word for me either...I keep checking the email. UGH!
 
OFFICIAL interview invites will be emailed within the week so no worries if you haven't received an invite yet, there is still time. Also I am sure they are swamped right now responding to e-mails so give it some time. Good Luck everyone!
 
I called this morning and was told they just began sending out "rejections" via e-mail. That will continue through the end of March. In addition, if you don't get an interview invite by March 15th that's probably a No GO. Sounds like they're still working... good luck to us all!:luck:
 
so not only will i still be obsessively checking the mail...i'll be worried whenever my little email sound goes off that i've been rejected from penn.

awesome...one more thing to add to my list of neuroses 🙄
 
Oh no, I didn't get an email asking if I was still interested. I wonder if that means I'm gonna get the rejection email soon.

did they tell you that invites would be all sent out by this friday?
 
no they just said within a week, so that could mean that they wont send invites until next thursday even.
 
wonderful....I didn't get the email asking if I was still interested either....guess I will stop worrying about getting an interview...
 
I didn't get the email asking if I was still interested, but a few days ago I sent them an update email saying that I was still interested, what animal experience I had accumulated, etc... Now I don't know what to think!!! probably I've been rejected already, but my hope will not be stamped out until I get that rejection.
 
On the off chance that any of you are lurking in this thread, I just wanted to thank all of the students AND my fellow applicants for making today's interview process super fun! I had a wonderful time talking to all of you and it made the day go by very quickly. Much more quickly than my Friday rush hour commute back home, which took almost 3x as long as it took to get there this AM.. BOO.

Whether they accept me or not, it was a really great experience, mostly thanks to the people I met!
 
I second that! Had a great time at Penn, and the students were excellent. Hopefully I did well on my interview and you to RockStar. Thanks again for the wonderful experience!😍

Just thought I'd let you all know that I just got an email from Penn saying that I'm not getting an interview. That's okay though because I've already gotten two acceptances. Good luck to all of you that are still waiting.

I still haven't heard from UPenn about a possible interview. Hopefully the waiting won't be too much longer, at this point, I just want to know! Has anyone else heard anything recently?
 
So does anyone know what the status is with Penn? When is the last interview date? How many interview dates do they have left? Has anyone recently gotten an interview invite? When should we hear about an interview? I am IS and have yet to hear anything. Wow that was a big list of questions! I'll quit rambling now- someone help... :laugh:
 
I don't know anything for sure, but when I called last week Rob said that they were trying to get all the interviews set because they are getting close to the April 15 deadline. I know their spring break is coming up so I would guess that people should be hearing about interviews this week?
 
Got my rejection today (as expected). I still don't get WHY they couldn't have told me that, say, 3 months ago!? :meanie:
 
No Penn for me either. S'ok since I've still got a couple of great options left. Good luck to those still waiting!

did you guys get an email from Penn today? What time did it come? I'm so scared when I check every new email message I get, thinking it's a rejection.
 
It came at 4:10pm CST today.
 
Penn added 15 os positions to the class of 2012 (making the class 130) and i think that there are two more weeks of interviews but im not positive. Good luck everyone!
 
I'm sorry about the rejections guys - thats so silly. They told me they would be sending the rejections in april so maybe they changed their minds! The vet school adcoms will do whatever they want i guess!

Enchanting...how did you find that out? Just curious!
 
No need to apologize Calpard...I would rather know sooner than later anyway myself... But I am still in the "heard nothing" group.

You know what - thats a really good point and I totally agree. Well lets hope that a lot of us still waiting get interviews then so we don't have to wait till april...:luck:
