I just received my acceptance letter in the mail last Saturday! yaay! Anyway, does anyone know when orientation is for new students and when the start date is for class? I can't seem to find that info in my packet.

Congrats to you, Baby Kuma! I'm glad to see some more Seattle people come to Penn--there are three of us this year (in the class of 2007)! It's a great school!

As for orientation, it should begin in the middle of August--either on 16 or 23 August--so either way, plan to be here by mid-August! See you then!

Thanks Bort! I already accepted at Case, but now, I'll just withdraw. 🙂 I'm really excited about going to Penn. 🙂 Yaay.

Hey All,

I am choosing between penn and columbia. I just got in off the waitlist, but i told columbia and told them I had to pass. I left him a message soon after telling him I think I made a mistake, so there is still a chance i could still go there. I was wondereing what influenced you all in choosing u penn. I loved everyting about upenn and columbia, but when i went to columbia to visit, I didn't get a good feel for the type of students you are because they were all so busy. I think student happiness and quality of life are some of the most important things I'm considereing in choosing a school and I've heard from other people that columbians are way too over worked and stressed out. It seems like people at penn are much happier. I'm a hard worker, don't get me wrong, but I just dont want to be in an overly competative environment like I was in undergrad. So I was jsut wondering what your impressions of the schools were and if you think my concept of columbia students is accurate. Thanks foryour help. Good luck in school, and I may see you next year!

Glad to have you with us! To update the class of 2008, you have 125 students this year. It was one of the most competitive years for PENN and more and more people are lining up on the waitlist to get accepted.

125 students!? Isn't it usually like 95-100?

We (class of 2007) were scheduled to have 110 students whenever they assigned the student numbers (sometime before the first day of school), but four never showed up (and one dropped in January, so I currently have 104 great classmates).

118 students paid a second deposit before 01 May 2004 to be a part of the class of 2008, so if 100% show up on 23 August, then you'll have a dozen more students than the number with which we started. Although probably not all of them will end up attending Penn, most will, so you'll probably have seven to ten more than we...

...and I'm not sure if anybody knows where you'll all be put. I guess everyone will find out during orientation 🙂
