Hey all, seems like interviews have slowed down for most fields. I thought it'd be helpful to start a thread on what percent of your programs you've heard back from by Oct 15th (invites and rejections). Obviously, this is specialty and program dependent, but may help everyone to get a sense of where we are in the process especially since deadlines have been varying for recent years. I know classmates in certain specialties that are worried, but are probably unnecessarily so since their fields are slower to invite.

I'll start:
Pediatrics ~ 60%

--Though, I know other programs that I have applied to have indeed sent out some invites. I just have not heard any response from these programs.

I would say PMR likely 60-70%, with a number of programs still giving out/having interview dates

I know how you feel. 🙁 There are a few programs I felt I had a legitimate shot at receiving an interview invitation, but nothing except silence. Then, there are other more competitive programs that responded with invites within a week or two of applying. Programs can be so fickle!

Me too. People in my class have gotten interviews from an additional 5 programs I applied to (which negates the regional bias thing).

You have the same number of interview invites as I do, and a lot at some great quality programs! Your percentage is lower because you probably applied to more places. 🙂

it's so easy to get completely irrational/neurotic during interview season. thanks for keeping me grounded lol i needed that...the interview season is young and there are many more invitations to be had!

This process is so odd- interviews from places I thought I didn't have much of a chance at and rejections/radio silence from "safer" programs- I would love to be a fly on the wall to hear how they sort through our files!

Don't expect your number to hit 100%. I applied last year and was never notified in anyway, shape, or form from some programs. I probably hit 80-85% by the end.

Many programs that I haven't heard from have sent invites... Just not to me :-(
