I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this part of the DAT tests you on.

i hope youre not being serious...

Angle discrimination, form development cubes, orthographic projections, apertures, and paper folding.

get the kaplan book and the baron's how to prepare for the DAT -especially the baron's book - it really hepled me on the PAT - it is a rough part of the DAT because you can't really study for it persay - you have to prepare for it - lots of studying via the books will help you out -that is really the only way to study for it.

Thanks everyone for clarifying that up for me!

Best advice: study this section EVERY day... practice, practice, practice.

I heard some admissions people say this is the most important part. But, I haven't seen any SDNers post with scores over 19 in this section. Anyone get superb scores like 26 and up? Just curious 🙂

I got a 21, but the highest I have heard is a 22. One would think that SOMEONE must get a 24-26, but I wonder if those people are the ones getting 12-14 on the other sections?

I got a 20 . . . I think i once saw someone who got like a 24 in this. . .. I wish i remembered who.

My dentist says he got a 27, but I dont believe him--I think he doesn't remember right (but I wont tell him that to his face-LOL)

LOL, my dentist says he got a 27 PAT and a 26 AA, but I don't belive him either since he also told me that he applied early and got into VCU at the last second. I guess maybe his gpa and everything else sucked so thats why he almost didn't get in.

Anyway, when I'm a dentist I think I'll tell people I got 30's j/k

It would be so funny to see your face during the DAT test when you get to the PAT part and start scratching your head like having lots of dandruff.

Lol! I imagine if you did, the next time you visit him you're gonna need two root canals 😀 Good choice by the way!

But wow, still no one with a crazy score. I guess crazy scores only happen in Ochem and GChem eh?

Or biting all of your nails off. To the OP: seriously though, the PAT is a very difficult part of the DAT and the secret is practice. As others have suggested, obtain a copy of Kaplan's blue book, buy Topscore, and look over Barron's guide for study habits and strategies.

I got a 22 on the PAT. It was surprisingly my highest score on the DAT. Don't stress too much if you don't get it at first. I remember almost crying in the beginning after getting 9s and 10s on the practice PAT section. The other poster is right, YOU HAVE TO PRACTICE REGULARLY. Before bed each night just pick up the book and practice for a half hour or so.

My buddy got a 23 on the PAT, so it's definately do-able. Don't count on any strengths during the test on the line angles because at home they are a peice of cake and on the real thing they're impossible.
