This may seem like a foolish question, but in residency, what portion of your overall evaluation as a student comes from Inservice exams, board scores, research, and clinical performance?
So say I were to apply to a fellowship, and I had bad inservice/board grades, would I be summarily ruled out of certain fellowship spots?
Basically - is residency the same as med school where your grades/boards matter, then clinical performance, then research? Is there ranking in a residency program based on inservice grades? Are you graded on an ABC scale? Do you have honors?
I know this is premature, and a bit random, but I'm just curious.
Thanks in advance.
