I need help with this please:
Jenny is making flags, she has 5 colors. each flag consists of 3 colors.
How many flags can Jenny make?
I'm not sure if this is a combination or a permutation?

This is a permutation because the order matters. The order of colors is important. some countries have the same colors in their flag but not in the same order. For example Russia and France have the same 3 colors ( white Blue Red ) but in the same order.

So there are 5P3 = 5x4x3=60 different ways she can pick 3 colors out of 5

Hope this helps!

Thank you. This makes it clear. I have problems differentiating when the order matters and when it doesn't.
