The problem is most of the time you don't want to write anything down unless it's really good, because this is the MOST IMPORTENT STATEMENT YOU'LL EVER WRITE!!!! Of course what happens is you don't write anything down until three days before you want to turn it in. Instead, take a sheet of paper, and start throwing everything you can think of onto it, ESPECIALLY if it's ******ed. Regurgitate why you wanted to be in med school/in medicine, what makes you different from every other applicant, big events in your life, etc. etc. If you have to, write "This is ******ed I can't think of anything," a couple times. You'll find it's a lot easier going back and editing out, and then as you try to smooth what's left, you'll find yourself digging up memories and fillling in spaces until you have a nice nifty personal statement that'll only take three or four more revisions.
