Hello,
I'm filling out secondaries and was wondering what this meant. Could I mention a friend? The question is specifically for BUSM.

"Do you have a personal connection to BUSM or BMC, or any other part of Boston University?"
I have a friend who went to my really small LAC who is completing her PhD there. She's been really successful. Could mentioning her be some kind of support for me to say "hey people from my tiny school do cool things?"

They want to know if you are a legacy admit but won't come out and be honest about it so they use code-phrases like that (welcome to the world of higher education!). Writing someone other than a parent won't hurt, but it probably won't help either. The non-cynical exception would be if your wife is currently a student or something.
