Hi Everyone,

I just had a question about the personal essay/statement that we're supposed to send in with our application. I was wondering what EXACTLY goes in there. How do i start, what do i talk about, and how "long" it has to be. I'm really worried about this part of the application process because i've no clue about this. I'd really appreciate ya'llz help....thanx a lot!!

Here is a resource from my undergrad school's website:
http://advisingservices.ucdavis.edu...ent_application_health_profession_school.html

And check out the "Writing the Personal Statement" section in this page of OptStudent.com:
http://www.optstudent.com/applications.html

Hope this helps!

look at their applications or on their websites if their apps have been taken down by now.
the paper you submit is not so much as a "personal statement" as the one you had to write for undergrad, it is answering some general questions. usually "what got you interested in the profession? what do you plan on doing with the degree? and why this school?" are common questions. The essays are usually about 500 words, but some schools vary from so much as 250 words to no limit.
hope this helps. good luck.
