Edit: I've finished my personal statement (sans PB&J) and uploaded it to OTCAS. Whew. Just gotta finish the "Activities, Awards, and Recognitions" section... I didn't even notice it was there! This is a seriously long and complicated section!

My judgement is feeling rather foggy after sitting in front of the computer for what seems like 48 consecutive hours trying to write my personal statement, so I'd appreciate a fresh set of eyes...

I'm sorely tempted to write the following:

.My goal is to work in a challenging and engaging career that would allow me to continually learn new things, be creative, and practically apply my knowledge and skills to help others. Upon learning more about the field and getting to observe OTs in action, I discovered that OT and me go together like peanut butter and jelly. Occupational therapy is a profession that will complement my natural abilities and strengths: creative problem solving, curiosity and eagerness to learn, teamwork, patience, tenacity, and adaptability.

Is mentioning PB&J a bad idea in a personal statement? Is it a whimsical stroke of genius or an indication that I'm getting hungry?

Also, if anyone would like to give me notes on the rest of my PS, just say the word and I'll post it!

Thanks!

Sara
