I'm finishing up my personal statement and I just got a draft back from one of my professors. Following a paragraph where I stated that I excelled in my research he added a sentence which was basically a list of five honors and awards I received for research. Would it be redundant if I listed the same five (or a few of them) in my post-secondary experiences of the AMCAS? Three of the five were pretty big honors that I want to make sure are highlighted on the application. So what would be the best way to place all of these??

Any insight would be much appreciated, thanks!! 🙂

I've always been under the impression that as cool as it might sound to mention honors in an essay, it should be followed by explanation of significance, what you learned, what it meant to you, how you became a better researcher, etc.

Best of luck! 👍

Yes. If any award is related to other achievements you mentioned in the essay, you could say "I (saved earth from Godzilla) which led to me being awarded the (Congressional Medal for Monster Hunting)".

You only have one page of essay to express you as a person, so repeating the rest of the application is not the way to go. Of course, if you are a boring person and have nothing else to say except the rest of the application, by all means just put everything down again. (Remember, EVERYONE writes the SAME PS - make yours stand out)
