Personal Statement - Can't Indent?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Why can't we indent each paragraph? Should I should leave a blank space between paragraphs to deal with this?

For the millionth time, just leave a blank line in between your paragraphs instead of indenting.

Use the search function more often as well.

Or, you can hit return and then use three or four spaces at the start of each paragraph. It uses slightly more characters but I think it looks nicer.

if you paste the text in with tabs at the start of every paragraph, it will come out in the print-preview as spaces between paragraphs. (sorry if i'm not describing it well. when in doubt, click on the icon in the main menu that says "print application" and you'll get a preview of what it looks like in PDF.)

I think what this post means is that all you have to do to visually distinguish the paragraphs is just hitting the return between them. This is because the final printed version of the PS uses two returns between the paragraphs (although it doesn't show this when you are typing it into the box, it does when you look at the .pdf from the print application thing). This is likely why every return counts as two characters instead of one.
