personal statement- diff for each school?

i'm working on my personal statement currently and I was wondering if i needed to write a different one/tweak my general one a little so that it is more applicable to a specific school. Is this necessary or will the same personal statement for all schools be okay?

Primary application includes a general personal statement that goes to every school you apply to. Those schools will send back secondary applications with more specific questions; common essay topics are hit upon by multiple schools e.g. “why xyz school of medicine?” That secondary question answer will be different for each school, but may share the same themes.
