I'm sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find one for dentistry!

I am a reapplicant and was wondering how I should go about for my personal statement. Do they have access to my first application/personal statement?

I will not submit the exact essay obviously, and will add on things I've improved on but if the basic storyline is basically the same (since it is a "why dentistry" essay in a way and that hasn't changed much) would they not like that and seem repetitive?? Should I completely scrap my original essay and as if they already have my 1st application essay and dedicate my personal statement purely on how I've improved from the last cycle? I am just scared about the latter not detailing how I got into dentistry in the first place.

Any input would be helpful!

I was a reapplicant. Same personal statement with some tweaking... same overall story. I don't think you should scrap it entirely. Good luck!

I would also love, love, love advice on this subject. I'm also a reapplicant (who got accepted last round) but I've already went ahead and rewritten my PS. However, I feel that my first PS was the heart and soul of why I chose dentistry vs my second revision which was a rewrite for the sake of rewriting (common wisdom around these forums).

You got accepted last cycle and are reapplying? May I ask why you chose to decline an acceptance?

You can check my post history but, TL;DR I'm an AZ resident didn't get WICHE funding so I have to pay OOS tuition. Dentistry is not worth 500k debt (1.2 million dollars over a standard loan). So I'm going to reapply with HPSP / Wiche funding and see what happens.

I think dentistry is worth 1 million bucks.

Considering schools haven't closed down, plenty of people think that. Financially speaking, I have no idea how people arrive at their conclusions. Either way, I don't want to turn this thread into a debate, I'd like some feedback on the OP's / my post.
