Hey guys,
I'm workin on some summer internship applications that are asking for a PS, and i was wondering if anyone might have some free time before classes start to take a gander at it. This personal statement will double to serve as my AMCAS essay.

I saw a thread about SDN'ers willing to read PS for class of 2009, but i don't know how many people are still checkin the board. Thanks.

👍 PM if you want.

are there any repositories where I can look at some old personal statements? I'm really not sure how I want to approach mine. Obviously, I want to avoid plagiarism, or anything that could be construed as such, but I'd like to see what other people do when they go about this.

i have some time now to read.

Hey oldman! How are rotations going?

TheProwler- I don't know of any sources that have old personal statements. Although sometimes people post their PS on sdn... so you could try doing a search. Someone told me that there is no point in reading other PSs because they should all be different... hence why they are personal. Think about what got you to where you are, what's special or unique about you, why medicine? These are all things that should go in your PS.

I love you tinkerbell 😉 haha~

Jammin06: I agree with tinkerbelle in that sometimes if you get too many people to read your personal statement, it often gets so marred up that you lose your own voice. However, if you need someone to check for grammar and such, PM me and I might have some time to edit your paper 🙂 (Granted that it's not 100 pages long...)

Also, I'm just wondering when you are planning to use this PS as your AMCAS PS? If there is going to be a significant amount of time in between the two, then perhaps it might be better for you to write another PS when it comes time to apply to med school, since so many new things will have happened that might give you a new perspective... Just a suggestion 😀

I can read it. PM me if you're interested.
