Hey so I am in the middle of filling out my AMCAS application and I have no idea how to start my PS. I have a lot to say but not a lot of words to say it in, and I want it to be well structured. Does anyone have any advice or resource names that might be able to help me out? Thanks a million!

This is probably the toughest part of the application to fill out and it's not going to be done in a day or two. First, ask yourself why you're pursuing medicine. And then try to convey that in a meaningful essay format. Some people refer to clinical or volunteering experiences in which an epiphany dawned on them. Some people talk of their personal experiences with doctors or a family member being ill. Either ways, you want to make your PS unique, and to stand out. Avoid being cliche and have multiple people review it.

To answer your question, go online and just search for personal statement examples and after reading each one, you'll get an idea of certain themes or presentations that will make your PS stand out.
