Hi!!

I totally underestimated my personal statement, and now I'm paying the price. I finally finished writing it today.

Would anyone mind giving it a quick proofread before i submit it?

I'm already way late in the application cycle, so any help would be deeply appreciated.

For what it's worth, I'd be happy to read it and give you some comments. I have not applied to medical school, but I have quite a bit of experience writing personal statements for other programs (and I've been fairly successful). I've also tutored quite a bit, particularly for directed studies/research in my discipline (economics).

This is probably a dumb question, but AMCAS does not forward your application to medical schools until it is verified, correct?

Consider this hypothetical case:

You submit AMCAS on Oct 5
It gets verified and submitted on Nov 5
School application deadline is Nov 1

Do they accept your application because you submitted it before the deadline, or do they reject it because they received it after the deadline?

Absolutely no idea. If I had to guess I'd pick the latter.

That may be true, but schools have secondary deadlines that are typically in late December or early January (compared to October or November primary deadlines).
