I think you might need more individual attention for your Personal Statement and Secondary essays. Don't you have an old English teacher from your high school or college that you might ask for help. Or perhaps your current school has a Writing Center that could assist you.

I'm in a similar situation, I had a PS that I thought was fine, and my pre-med committee basically wants me to change it before I submit my app. I wanted to submit it this week, now I have to start from scratch on my PS. So frustrating. I know it wasn't exactly life-changing since I don't feel I have any profound stories to talk about, but I don't think it was anywhere near as bad as they made it sound either.
