Can't find any recent guidance on personal statement length here or on AMCAS. How long are your personal statements on average??

The AMCAS personal statement has a limit of 5300 characters (spaces count as characters as well, if I remember correctly). AACOMAS has a shorter essay (4500 characters, I think), so keep that in mind as you're writing if you're going to apply to MD and DO schools.

The Adcom doesn't really want to read more than a page or so. At least that goes for most folks on there. Just something to consider.
