I've been working on my personal statement and a doctor I met before offered to read it over for me. I sent him my essay via e-mail on Tuesday this week but he hasn't reply yet. I just found out from a friend that she hasn't receive my attachment e-mail either. I am worried that the doctor did not get my e-mail as well but I'm afraid that if I sent him again, he might think that I am rushing him. I don't want to be rude but I want to make sure that he got it. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Give him a week to respond then send a follow up

Look at the message in your sent items folder and see if it has an attachment? If it does, and you didn't get an admin message from his email system saying delivery failed, he got it. Give him another week and then follow up.

go ahead and send him an email explaining that you have been experiencing some difficulties with your email, and recipients haven't been getting some of your messages. Thank him for his willingness to help you and state that you simply want to double check that he received the email and there is no rush for him to read it over. Reattach the personal statement just in case he didn't get it. If you're worried about that seeming pushy, wait until a week after, but I think you're overanalyzing a bit, as most people wouldn't mind an email resent and would just delete it if they had indeed received the original.
