So all the common advice I've seen on these forums seems to point at NOT making your personal statement about something already listed in your 15 activities. However, would it be alright to say, give an overview of the experience in the work/activities, and then pick a specific event to elaborate on in the PS? Would this still be considered reusing material? Also, is it necessary to use things that happened directly to you, or would experiences that you witnessed/participated in be equally good?
Thanks for the help!

Doesn't matter. It's YOUR personal statement. Do what you want with it. That being said, using something you describe later in detail would be redundant. But you can always provide a new spin or perspective on it. :luck:
