Personal Statement Question

I've had a few people read my personal statement and they said that I should have a clear thesis statement at the end of the first paragraph like a normal essay. The first two paragraphs are about a story that contributes to why I want to enter the medical field. I know that there is no specific format for the statement, but did you have a specific format that you followed?

Your personal statement needs to answer the question, "Why are you applying to medical school?" How it does this is entirely up to you. There are no rigid guidelines on structure although most fall into one of a couple categories.
