Hi,

I am trying to write a decent personal statement, it's about a page long as of now but it's very plain. I don't have any interesting story (I wish I did) so that I can share that in my personal statment. I basically tried my best in answering all of the questions OptomCAS asks and that is it, I didn't add anything unique in it, if I should be making my essay unique.

Please let me know any opinions/thoughts and/or advice. Your guidance is appreciated.

If you don't think that anything is special about your application then no one else will either. My advice is to start talking to people who know you well (not your parents) who can tell you what they think would be your unique attributes. Professor or employer would be good.

Try to tell them through shadowing experiences what you liked, try to be as concrete as possible and show why you want to go into optometry instead of just saying you want to.
