I wasn't really thinking about this at firs, but I'm wondering if this is going to be a problem now. I was planning on using the same PS as my MD apps, but just deleting some of it to match the character count. Is this ok?? I am interested in going for an MD residency even if I go to DO school. My PS talks about a family member having an autoimmune disease. Should have somehting specific about DO physicians in there? Right now I just use the word physician.

Short answer: Yes you can.

Primary PS: Why do you want to become a physician? (address this question somehow)

Secondary Essays: Why do you want to become a (Osteopathic or Allopathic) physician? (address this question somehow)

Just a quick reminder that the residencies are merging. There will be no difference in residencies, all will be ACGME accredited.

Ok, thank you! I know about the residencies, but I just always see people on here saying that we should really be interested in DO to apply and all..and I am, but I am also interested in MD. I am just interested in being a physician and that's what I try to convey through my writing so I hope it's enough!
