So, I put my rough copy of my PS on AMCAS so if it would fit, and looked at the print version. Am I alone in this, or is everyone else's turn into one big mish mash, replete with question marks for apostrophe's and paragraph's running together?

hey don't worry about all the wierd characters that turn up in amcas program; they supposedly work out when the med schools read them. supposedly. goodluck.

DW, did you save your essay in text format? I found that the problems you described are a result of trying to cut and paste from an MS Word document.

i wrote it in Word, then pasted that into Notepad. Still no difference
