A1: neither. 4500 characters (including spaces).

A2: the importance of a personal statement differs from school to school. my advice, since it is the one thing you have complete control over at this time in the game, make it really really good (don't cut any corners).

i did, but i couldn't find so i had to ask.

i think it's more important to apply as soon as possible than to wait around and work for a long time on your statement. an admittance person told us that if it comes down to applying early or spending two weeks on your statement, i's better to have an average statement and apply early.

Ditto. But why not have a good personal statement and apply early. Get your personal statement done EARLY!

Up to you. Use as much space as you need to sell yourself. For some it might take 2-3 paragraphs for others all 4500 characters.

Yeah. That this point in the game... 2 weeks won't make a difference. It is way to early to be rushing your application.

2792 characters was enough for me. Quality over quantity. Make sure you have lots of people read it and critic it. Take your time and let it marinate. No pressure

I have question, you guys are sayin that work on the personal statement early. But what do they want me to write about? is there a from available telling me what to write about? (the addsas aplication wont come out till mid may, so how am I supposed to work on it early?)

You are encouraged to compose your statement in a text-only word processor (e.g., Notepad), review your statement for errors, then cut and paste the final version into the text box above. More importantly, ask AADSAS or whoever made the rule in the first place....instead of a bunch of strangers on the internet. These threads always amaze me, especially for something this important.

What's the topic of the personal statement???

With any paper I've ever done, there's always a topis such as "Write about the underlying themes in the Great Gatsby" etc.

What's the assigned topic for the personal statement then? I haven't seen it anywhere! 😕
