Hey guys, I need help with the personal statement. AADSAS says "Your Personal Statement should address why you desire to pursue a dental education and how a dental degree contributes to your personal and professional goals." How do I write up to 4500 characters on this? Does this mean I cant include any discrepancies, or what I've participated in and learned and stuff??

Are there any sample statements i can look at or guidelines? I am horrible at writing, and need your guys help.

Thanks.

There are tons of topics you can write about, including your experiences. They say it's good to write it in a story form. I think you can search on-line for examples, if not, I'd go to your school's writing centers. GL!🙂

If I do this mission thing to Nicaragua do you guys think I should include it in my personal statement? Anyone else do it and put it in?

if you have foreign mission experience, then you can put it in if it is one of your highlighted experience that make you go into dentistry. The PS is to show why you are interested in dentistry and how you go about exploring it. I wrote on my childhood and then how I go about exploring it (volunteer, work, ect.).

Go to writing center and get it revised, make sure it sounds smooth, good, and interesting. GL with your app.
