What do you write for the personal statement? I have no idea.
Any good examples? Any cliches I should steer away from? What is the ideal personal statement and what should it be about? What if you really do not have any good experiences? Tips?

Write about what has caused you to want to become a doctor, and what in your life has prepared you for a career in medicine. You can write about virtually anything: a narrative, an experience you had as a kid, a chronology of your life leading up to medicine, etc. Just make it PERSONAL and convince them that you are earnest, realistic, and passionate about medicine. I read this book, it helped:

Also, there are already MANY personal statement threads on SDN, use the search function.

I don't think anythings too cliche unless it's obvious that it's b.s. This reminds me of Grey's Anatomy (what? I enjoy silly dramas) Dr. McSteamy "Cliches became cliches because they work." Just don't spout off stuff that isn't from you're heart and be yourself (see cliches work).
