Where would I explain my 3 F's from early college high school? I did build upon the failures dramatically. In my personal statement or is there another place for this?

There is usually a section where you can talk about any adversity you had to face or if you were in a difficult circumstance. Use your personal essay to show off your strengths instead of trying to justify your grades. I would use the optional essays to explain your Fs.

Supplemental applications seem to ask about academic difficulties and the such. At least the ones that I dealt with.
