So is it consensus to not tailor your PS for a region? I'm from SoCal and went to UG in Cali as well. Left Cali for med school but I want to go back. Would it be hurtful to mention in my PS my interest in the region comes from being raised there and having all of my immediate family still living there?

Also my UG has a med school with a radiology residency program. I'm guessing it's unnecessary to tailor my PS just for that program but I figured I'd ask.

My permanent Cali address and my Cali UG show up in ERAS obviously. I rather be safe than sorry and I know the mantra that the PS can hurt more than help. I also don't want programs to think I'm only interested in them because of location.

I'm wavering on doing this or not because I feel like it's not superficial and it's not something that I can tailor differently for all of the programs like stating some generic reason why I'm interested in Program X that I have absolutely no connection to

I mean in theory you can send a different one to the CA programs, I'm not sure it matters, though.

this is not really relevant to your post but I was wondering what most of you talked about in your personal statement, it seems quite difficult for me to imagine talkin about reading images, etc to not make it sound mundane, what do most applicants for radiology write?
