i am wondering what cards should i play when writing myself in PS,. My research experience, my volunteer experience, or my work experience ( working with MR and physically disabled) should i bother talking about specific school and their research or professors that i would like to work with?

so many ways to go when you only need to present yourself in 300 words

I've been wondering about that myself. If the statement is for a particular school, and there is something specific about a school that you are interested in, I'd put that down. Not necessarily parroting back research interests of the professors, but if there is a reason why you are applying to that school and not others, I'd put it down.

One of the North Carolina schools had something related to working internationally (in developing countries?) that sounded interesting to me.

I wanted my personal statement to reflect more of my personality and how I developed the clear desire to be an OT- not so much as all the things I did. I did write another statement to specific schools about why I wanted to go to that school if they stated that a supplemental statement could be included. BTW- I only got into the schools that I personally had visited so was able to specifically comment on something that a prof said to me or what I observed during the campus tour in the supplemental statement.
