In the Eras web application...the personal statement instructions limit the ps to 28000 characters....which is actually close to 10 pages...

the eras advisor in our school tells us to keep it to one page ....

is there flexibility in the length of the ps that is allowed? any tips from persons on residency committees/

are there any special exceptions? i.e. took a medical leave of absence and has been in school longer than most people? need some room for explaining...

PSs should generally be between 3/4 and 1-1/2 pages long. Shorter than 3/4 page makes you look lazy, and longer than 1.5 pages doesn't get read.

what do we mean in terms of word count when we say between 3/4 to 1.5 pages?
