Hey Guys, I just wanted to ask a quick question and get some advice.

I am applying to MD and DO schools, DO being my top choice (CCOM). I wrote a PS for my back up plan, a caribbean school and it came out to be ~3 pages, 7200 characters. I read on the boards that DO's PS should be at 4500. Does anyone know the MD limit?

Also, in my PS, I write about volunteering, shadowing, research, family, growing up and overcoming hardships. What would you recommend to keep and to get rid of to get to 4500 words?

thanks!

Allopathic PS is around 5300 (results from a quick google search). If you are going to take anything out... take out family (unless you have a physician in the fam), growing up and research. You can always add tid bits about those in with other topics (really alot of the stuff you mentioned could also).
