Hi all,

I'm applying for the second time, and the last time I applied was 2 years ago. Do you think it's advisable to mention that I am a reapplicant this time around? Or should i just avoid it altogether? Also, should I update whatever else has been affecting my decision to apply in the 2 years since i last applied?

Thanks,
R.

I am in the same situation and have been monitoring for the last month or so what people have been saying about this at SDN. I think consensus thought is that you should probably not mention you are a reapplicant on your personal statement, but maybe mention it in secondary application essays to highlight your persistence/dedication.

I would, however, mention the things you've been doing over the last two years that have really cemented your desire to attend med school. It seems the adcoms are always looking for indicators that your decision is an educated one, so this can only help.

Just my $.02!
