Three more important things: what kind of person you are? Why do you want to come to US to study dentistry? Why do you choose this school?

I think most of the things mentioned above are important for the personal statement, yet it should not look like a compilation of your resume. Mine used to be just that, and I think this was one of the reasons why my profile did not get attention last year. This year I paid for professional essay service (Peterson's Essay Edge) who revised my statement, and I think this was one of the things that helped me. Your personal statement should read as an interesting story, yet provide most important details on you and your interests.

I think that even though it should not be a compilation of your Resume, key elements of your resume should be inter-weaved into the SOP justifying how they would help you towards being successful in dental school and ultimately to achieve your career goals. According to me the key elements should be:
1. Very very brief introduction as to why you chose dentistry as a profession.
2. The reason for coming to US and choosing to pursue dentistry in US.
3. Relevant points about your clinical/research/any other experience in and after dental school that would help you succeed in a US dental school.
4. Finally, your career goals and how this program would help you achieve those and in turn how your career goals would benefit the profession and the society as a whole.

Yes, classmate, that's exactly what I meant as well🙂

hello friends,

I am doing my internship which is ought to complete in march.

My question is , where can I get the ASDA released papers of previous years.
I am planning to give my first attempt of NBDE I in June '11. I have started my preparations just few days back.
I am just reading the textbooks till now and planning to get KAPLAN, dental decks and previous years papers.
Are these enough? please reply.
Any other advice or suggestions regarding anything concerning to the above will be appreciable.

Hey, I'm applying for the Canadian NDEB Equivalency process as a graduate from a non-accredited program. I only sent in the documents listed on the Required Documents Form that the NDEB allows you to download and print out once you pay the application fee online. I did NOT include a CV nor a personal statement. Is that a huge mistake? At which point am I to come up with this personal statement?

hey just smile, may be canadian board don't require this coz here ppl are talking about universities of USA, so just relax
