If you're looking for a diversion from work, I can recommend the highly scientific personality testing available at:

www.thesuperheroquiz.com

Turns out that I'm Spiderman. There's some fancy way to insert the picture here, but I'm damned if I can figure it out (probably why I'm not the more tech-savvy Batman).

Perhaps more interestingly there's the super-villain quiz as well:

www.thesuperheroquiz.com/villain

I got Dr. Doom... at least I get to keep my degree.

I'm 85% spider-man 😱

Is that a good thing? I haven't seen it.

Your results: You are 90% Superman! You are mild-mannered, good, strong and you love to help others.

Hehe...exactly what I was thinking.

Not sure how I wound up with the hulk...maybe something about losing my temper.

They could've made it easier for us...

Do you enjoy liver with fava beans and a nice chianti?

(I know it's not a comic book super villain, but he's pretty villainous...)

Good points. What's interesting is I used to read Green Lantern comics as a kid. He's less popular than some of the other superheroes, but no less cool.

And it turns out I'm another superman character as a villain... Lex Luthor. Though if I ranked the business questions down to 4's, I wind up the Joker.

Doc Samson,

I know that you're the operative chief medical officer here. I'm graduating soon. Can you get me a staff position? Inpatient/outpatient...doesn't matter. Though I doubt there is an outpatient program affiliation.

Hmm... when I was looking at residencies I did interview there, but given the generally villainous state of psychiatry in the DC universe I chose to stay Marvel-only.

And here I thought I was geeky when I had my "Starfleet Medical Academy" window decal....
🙄

Nothing wrong with being a comic book geek - got Michael Chabon the Pulitzer (well, that and being one of the best writers of our generation).

Hulk hits theaters this w/e with Doc Samson in pre-irradiated form (I'm just praying they don't make the psychologist/psychiatrist mistake).

I was never a huge comic book fan. Though I did read my share as a kid.

Doc Samson always confused me. I could never quite get if he was more good, or evil. He was a psychiatrist, and treated Banner, but would periodically fight the Hulk, which in a way, is like fighting Banner, his patient, and then somehow wound up in that evil league..."shadow" or "shield" or something...and would fight other do-gooders like iron man and the like.

Oh well. Maybe one day when I have more time.

The ambivalent nature of DS mirrors the actual experience of psychiatrist-pt relationship in many ways. In most of the story lines Banner is the "patient" and the Hulk is the "illness." DS starts out working with the authorities to get Hulk under control (i.e., conforming with social norms). Later, as DS and Banner develop an actual therapeutic relationship, DS starts to understand that the Hulk cannot be controlled but perhaps can be integrated. Eventually DS helps banner evade the authorities when it becomes clear that their intentions (experimentation and profit) are not in his patient's best interest. As we've all experienced, sometimes you work to have your patient avoid hospitalization, sometimes you have to "betray" them and section them into the hospital against their will.

I hereby revoke your privilage to call me a Geek when I make a reference to DND. I further urge you to take the GEEK TEST 3.1 and assess the extent of your geekness. Welcome aboard sir, remember that eventually.... there can be only one.

Seriously, DS--you should write this up--using lots of big words, of course--and get it published. Makes more sense than a lot of the psychoanalytic literature I've been forced to read...

Interesting. Again, my understanding of the subject matter is sparse, but it seemed odd to me that DS not only would fight the hulk, but I had wondered what would be the outcome if he were to actually kill Hulk - him being his patient & all. Further, DS was sort of like a "mini-hulk" in the sense that he also had gamma radiation exposure and had green hair, the length of which correlated with his strength. In this way, he seemed to integrate the gamma radiation more effeciently. The gamma radiation acted like nefazodone or grapefrut juice or other 3A4 inhibitor in some ways, in that a relatively small dose of the radiation resulted in greatly increased levels of strength due to what appeared to be more efficienct incorporation into his DNA. I don't remember if DS lost emotional control much like the Hulk did...not that I recall.

It all makes (psychodynamic) sense when you remember that DS was irradiated by a controlled dose of gamma rays from his cathexis (seriously) device and not the uncontrolled random dose Banner got. It's all about attachment and controlled channeling of the id.

wttfff mate....lol. Mystique-Robin hybrid. So I'm a motherly little deceitful boy who lets others have the limelight. Haha!
