Hi,

Long time lurker here. I hope my question isn't regarded as silly but unfortunately I was waitlisted to my dream school. I was wondering if it would be appropriate to submit my waitlist acceptance form in person since my dream school is very close to where I live. Sorry if I seem to be neurotic, but I guess that's the reason I'm on SDN 😉

There's nothing wrong with it, but don't expect it to positively influence your odds of being accepted.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting it to positively influence my odds, but I just didn't it to negatively influence my odds. I was wondering if it would just be an indicator of my genuine interest in the school. I didn't want it to come off as an indication that I am a psycho stalker or anything haha.

I don't think you have to worry about that either! They'll just assume that it was easier for you to deliver it in person (I'm sure many would deliver it in person were they able to, since it eliminates the risk of the mail carriers losing/misplacing the letter while it is in transit).

My sentiments exactly! Especially now b/c of the economic situation and the postal service making cuts in service. Apparently, they're talking about eradicating postal service on a weekday. But as far as I'm concerned, they pretty much made all the cuts they're talking about without officially declaring it haha.

Thanks for the input, I'm definitely going to drop off the waitlist form myself. I hope I get invisible brownie points for it haha!

i did it, and the people at the admissions office made it seem like it happens all the time

It wldnt hurt if you personally hand deliver it to the dean...lol You can try that

An LOI will go much further than hand-submitting the waitlist form. Why not do both?
