Is it a boy or a girl? I always thought Melena was a beautiful name for a not very beautiful medical condition. You haven't smelled stank until you've smelled old, partially digested GI bleed from the back end....

My fiance gave me a Betta fish to be my desk companion while I studied for the MCAT. I named him Dr. Franklin Hippocrates, as in Rosalind Franklin. :-D

I called my beta fish Inigo Montoya. I got Inigo when I started residency, and he died right before I graduated. There's probably some deep meaning in there somewhere....

"My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!"

If you are going to abbreviate a Medical term to a normal "nick" name, really what's the point? How's that better than Theo being short for Theodore? Not much of a conversation starter there. Call the pet "Dr. Chancroid Tophus, III". "CT" for short (also medical). Much cooler and conversation provoking than Theo.
 
How about Chiari for a girl?
 
Pyruvate or Kinase if it's a boy. Tibia or Fibula if it's a girl.

I'd say Nissen; but it' already someone's name: eponym.

So, Fundy for fundoplication? Can you go wrong with Tachy? LOL Uvula is nice. Groovy uvie. Acantho - means spiny or thorny--seems appropriate for a hedgehog. Bill Rubin is always good. Billy Rubin--it's good for male or female.

My daughter wants a hedgehog. Her friend wants a sloth. What's with all these strange pets? LOL. I mean what's wrong with a good ole cat or dog? 🙂

OMG, one more for now. . .GERDy. LOL
